Classroom and behavior management is a struggle for many teachers. This website shares information about classroom management and other related topics that can be valuable for teachers. These topics include: Positive Behavior Supports, Life Space Crisis Intervention, Manifestation Determination, Theorists, Behavior Intervention Plans, Functional Behavior Assessment, Seclusion, Restraint, and Top Ten Classroom Behaviors. Each of these topics are explained and there are further resources provided. It is imperative that every teacher decides what their classroom management will look like in their classrooms and the importance of classroom management. For each teacher, classroom management will look different. A teacher is the one who is responsible to determine how his or her students will be organized based on space, time, and material.
About the Author
Allison Greene is a student at Hope College in Holland, Mi. She is studying
Special Education with a focus in Learning Disabilities. Allison has had
experience in seven different classrooms. All of these field experiences have
been in diverse grades, locations, and classroom types (resource room and
general education setting). In addition of field experiences, Allison had had
the opportunity to study abroad and assist/teach in Liverpool, England and in
Rosebud, South Dakota. These experiences has given her a chance to work with a variety of different types of students, diverse backgrounds, and
various disabilities. Allison has spent time as a Vacation Bible School (VBS)
teacher at her home church and volunteers once a week during the school year at Special Education Ministries (SEM) where she is paired up with an adult with an intellectual disability. She also enjoys spending a week of her summer at the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Camp in Lexington, Michigan where she helps children with Muscular Dystrophy have a camp experience.
